Sepehran Airlines Flight Experiences Extreme Turbulence, Cabin Damage

A Sepehran Airlines flight en route to Kermanshah from Mashhad experienced severe mechanical issues shortly after takeoff on September 15, leading to a harrowing experience for its 127 passengers.

Video footage captured the moment the Boeing 737 began shaking violently, causing panels to detach from the cabin ceiling. Passengers were heard screaming and praying as the disturbance intensified. Some reports indicated that passengers were struck by items falling from overhead cargo bins, though no injuries were reported.

In response to the unfolding emergency, the captain of the aircraft decided to turn back to Mashhad International Airport. Upon safe landing, the passengers were evacuated and transferred to a different aircraft to continue their journey to Kermanshah.

The incident reportedly led authorities to temporarily close one of the two runways at Mashhad International Airport, though the extent of any disruption to other flights remains unclear.

While initial reports suggested a burst tire as the cause, this has not been officially confirmed. Iranian authorities have initiated an investigation into the incident.

This event follows a previous incident involving a Sepehran Airlines Boeing 737 in August, where a flight from Tehran to Mashhad swerved off the tarmac upon landing, resulting in the collapse of its nose landing gear. No injuries were reported in that incident either.
