Senator Thom Tillis (R-NC) has stated that he requires acting Attorney General Todd Blanche to meet with victims of Jeffrey Epstein before Tillis will vote to advance Blanche's nomination.
Tillis expressed a "positive predisposition" toward Blanche but emphasized that a final decision has not been made. "I expect that meeting to occur before I’m willing to vote out of this committee," Tillis said, referring to the potential meeting with Epstein's victims. "I’m trying to get to yes. But this is a very important part of getting to yes."
Blanche indicated that he would meet with the victims on the day Tillis made his statement if the meetings could be arranged, acknowledging the presence of counsel as a restriction.
