Senator Mitch McConnell has returned home to continue his recovery after being hospitalized for over 50 days following a fall. McConnell, 84, was discharged from a rehabilitation center and stated he will "continue my recovery at home."
He expressed gratitude to his wife, Elaine, and the medical professionals who cared for him. "On the advice of my doctors, I'll maintain an intensive regimen of physical therapy from home during the state work period," McConnell said.
The incident occurred on June 14, when the senator fell at his Washington D.C. residence, leaving him briefly unconscious. He has not been seen in public or released any video since the fall. According to GovTrack.US, McConnell has not cast a Senate vote since June 11, marking 47 consecutive missed roll call votes, although he has remotely cosponsored some legislation.
