Sen. Mike Lee (R-Utah) has drawn sharp criticism on social media for a peculiar suggestion regarding where former President Donald Trump might host Chinese President Xi Jinping during a potential visit to the United States.

During an interview with Fox Business host Larry Kudlow, Lee, when asked if Trump was being too lenient with Xi, praised Trump as a "consummate host." Lee then proposed that Trump might invite Xi to visit a Panda Express restaurant, suggesting Trump would want to show his guest a good time by exploring his interests, such as trying the chain's broccoli beef.

Lee is known for making controversial statements and comments, including remarks on social media that were perceived as jokes about deadly shootings of Democratic political figures. However, the suggestion of taking a world leader like Xi Jinping to a fast-casual chain restaurant was met with particular ridicule from critics online.

Social media users widely condemned the idea, with many referring to Lee with insults such as 'moron' and 'clown' and labeling his suggestion as 'unhinged.'
