U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham visited a Ukrainian military drone factory one day before his death on Saturday evening at the age of 71. Graham toured a production facility belonging to Ukrainian defense company SkyFall as part of his trip to Ukraine.
During the visit, Graham also met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. House of Representatives colleague Rep. Michael McCaul (R-TX) also attended the meeting.
On Friday, Graham stated that he had reached an agreement with the White House on a Russia sanctions bill that the Trump administration was prepared to support. He was shown around a plant where Ukraine’s "Baba Yaga" Vampire bomber drones are manufactured.
Graham remarked that the U.S. could learn from Ukraine's advancements in unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) technology. "I believe that it would be a huge mistake for America not to cooperate with Ukraine in the field of drones," Graham was quoted as saying. "They are ready to help us, because we were ready to support Ukraine in the most difficult times."
The drones are capable of carrying an explosive charge behind enemy lines and are considered essential to Ukraine's military strategy.
