Senator Chris Coons, D-Del., sustained minor injuries in a multi-vehicle car crash that occurred Sunday in Delaware. Coons was a passenger in one of the vehicles struck when a driver experienced a medical emergency, triggering the collision.
Coons was transported to Beebe Hospital for treatment and has since returned home. He stated on social media that he expects to make a full and swift recovery and expressed gratitude to the first responders and medical personnel who assisted at the scene and at the hospital. He also noted his relief that no one was reported to be seriously injured in the incident.
