Connor Charlton, a 32-year-old semi-professional footballer, has been sentenced to four years in prison for dangerous driving and perverting the course of justice. The Crown Prosecution Service stated that Charlton was also involved in a scheme where other individuals would accept penalty points for speeding offenses in exchange for money.

Footage showed Charlton, a center forward for Nostell Miners Welfare FC in the Northern Counties East League, drifting his BMW at a roundabout, narrowly avoiding a collision with a van. In separate footage, a passenger filmed him driving at a speed of 191 mph on a motorway.

Charlton, from Hunslet, pleaded guilty to 10 counts of dangerous driving and four offenses of perverting the course of justice. He was sentenced on Wednesday at Leeds Crown Court and has also been banned from driving for four years and seven months.
