Selma Blair's on-off boyfriend, Andy Kiernan, has publicly appealed for prayers for the actress, stating she needs 'help' following her arrest on a Delta flight. Blair, 54, was taken into custody Sunday after allegedly assaulting flight attendants and attempting to open an aircraft door mid-flight. Kiernan shared on Instagram Stories Tuesday, "Pray for Selma. She has a good heart. She hasn't yet got the help she needs. Pray that she does. She's a human being like the rest of us. Pray for Arthur too."

Blair pleaded not guilty on Monday to two counts of second-degree assault related to the alleged attacks on a nurse and a police officer at Queens Criminal Court in New York. She faces separate federal charges for the alleged assaults on the flight attendants. Her attorney, Shawn Barnes, told the court that Blair had missed doses of medication for severe neurological symptoms and that factors including the flight's altitude may have led to confusion and disorientation.

Blair was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2018 and has publicly shared her experiences with the condition. Her legal team also stated she has been diagnosed with Parkinsonism. She is due back in court on January 19 for the state charges, where she could face up to seven years in jail if convicted. No date has yet been set for the federal case, which is expected to be heard in Brooklyn.

A judge granted the nurse allegedly kicked by Blair a temporary restraining order, requiring Blair to stay 100 yards away from the nurse and avoid all contact until October 2027. The nurse reported experiencing significant chest pain following the alleged assault.

According to a law enforcement source, the FBI issued Blair a summons for alleged assaults within the special maritime and territorial jurisdiction of the United States. The legal complaint indicates that after being transported to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, Blair kicked a registered nurse in the chest. The nurse and a police officer both reported pain, with the officer sustaining a swollen jaw.

Delta Airlines stated that the company has zero tolerance for unruly or unlawful behavior, emphasizing that the safety of customers and crew is paramount. The FBI is investigating the alleged assaults aboard the aircraft.

In a previous incident in 2016, Blair apologized after an episode on a Delta flight from Cancun, where she reportedly mixed alcohol and medication, leading to a public disturbance. She later stated that she had "made a big mistake" and was "filled with shame."
