Selma Blair's DWTS Partner Suggests Comeback After In-Flight Incident
Sasha Farber expressed a desire to dance with Selma Blair again following her recent arrest for an alleged in-flight altercation.
Sasha Farber, a professional dancer who partnered with Selma Blair on "Dancing With The Stars" in 2022, has expressed openness to the actress returning to the show. His comments come in the wake of Blair's arrest following an alleged in-flight incident on a Delta flight.
Farber described Blair as "incredible" and "so strong," telling the Daily Mail that he would "love to dance with her again." He added, "She was so good, and it would be cool to maybe bring her back." He acknowledged the challenges Blair faced during their previous season due to her multiple sclerosis (MS) battle, which led to her early departure.
Blair, 54, has been accused of assaulting members of the flight crew and attempting to open a plane door mid-flight. She has since pleaded not guilty to charges of second-degree assault, which stem from allegations of kicking a Port Authority Police Department officer and a hospital nurse. Her legal team stated that she missed several doses of medication for her neurological condition prior to the flight, contributing to her state of confusion.
In a statement released by her spokesperson, it was clarified that Blair experienced a medical emergency during the flight and did not intend to harm anyone, nor did she attempt to open the aircraft door. The statement also emphasized the legitimacy of her MS diagnosis, which has been public since 2018, and noted that she lives with daily pain. Her condition, pseudobulbar affect, a neurological disorder secondary to MS, can affect how she presents during medical episodes.
Blair previously withdrew from "Dancing With The Stars" in 2022, citing medical reasons related to her MS. She explained at the time that her doctors advised her she could not continue with the competition. Farber recalled her emotional statement during that time, noting that she felt she had been "pushed as far as I could."
In an interview recorded before the flight incident, Blair expressed her sadness at leaving the show early and indicated a willingness to return if the opportunity arose. She described her experience on the show as "very old Hollywood" and "incredible."
Blair has been navigating public attention following the incident. She was recently seen with her son and service dog in Los Angeles. Her legal team has asserted that there is more to the story than has been reported and urged public consideration of all facts before judgment.
A Delta representative stated that the company has "zero tolerance for unruly or unlawful behavior, as the safety of our customers and crew always comes first."
Blair is scheduled for a hearing in January regarding the charges.
