Selma Blair's Boyfriend Asks for Prayers Amid Assault Charges Following Flight Incident

Selma Blair's on-again, off-again boyfriend, Andy Kiernan, has publicly requested prayers for the actress following her arrest and subsequent assault charges. The charges stem from an alleged incident aboard a Delta flight that landed in New York City.

Kiernan shared a message on Instagram stories, urging followers to "pray for Selma" and emphasizing that "She has a good heart." He added, "She hasn't yet got the help she needs. Pray that she does." Kiernan also asked for prayers for Arthur, referring to Blair's 15-year-old son.

Blair, 54, was arrested Sunday evening after Delta Flight 938, which had departed from Los Angeles, landed at John F. Kennedy International Airport. Port Authority police responded to a call about a "physically abusive passenger." According to an affidavit, an officer attempting to help Blair onto a stretcher reported that she kicked the officer multiple times in the face, neck, and chest, causing swelling and pain. Blair is also accused of kicking a nurse at a Queens hospital.

The actress was taken into custody and transported to a hospital for evaluation. Two flight attendants reportedly sustained injuries, with one requiring hospitalization. Delta Airlines stated that the company has "zero tolerance for unruly or unlawful behavior, as the safety of our customers and crew always comes first."

During a court appearance Monday, Blair's attorney, Shawn Barnes, reportedly stated that the actress missed several doses of a "powerful" medication for severe neurological symptoms. The attorney also claimed Blair had fallen and hit her head during the flight, leading to a state of "severe confusion and disorientation" exacerbated by altitude.

Blair was arraigned on two counts of second-degree assault. She was released on $20,000 cash bail and is scheduled to appear in court again in January 2027. Additionally, she is facing a separate assault charge from the FBI.

A representative for Blair previously stated, "Selma experienced a medical emergency that led to the alleged conduct. Upon landing, she received immediate medical attention and is currently in stable condition."

Kiernan and Blair were reportedly seen together at the US Open in 2024, though the current status of their relationship is unclear.
