Selma Blair Arrested After Alleged Altercation on Delta Flight

Actress Selma Blair was arrested and taken to a hospital following an alleged physical altercation with two flight attendants on a Delta Airlines flight from Los Angeles to New York. Airport officials responded to a call about a "physically abusive passenger" aboard the flight, which landed at John F. Kennedy International Airport.

According to the New York Port Authority, two flight attendants sustained injuries, with one being transported to a hospital. Blair, known for her roles in "Legally Blonde" and "Hellboy," was taken into custody and received medical attention. The FBI has confirmed it is investigating the incident, which is standard procedure for assaults aboard aircraft.

Blair's publicist stated that she "experienced a medical emergency that led to the alleged conduct." The publicist added that Blair received immediate medical attention upon landing and is currently in stable condition.

Air traffic control audio obtained by CBS News indicated that the pilot requested medical personnel for a passenger with a "bloody nose as well as some bite marks." Flight crew members reportedly restrained Blair during the flight. Delta Airlines has stated that law enforcement met the flight upon arrival and emphasized the airline's zero-tolerance policy for unruly behavior.

This is not the first time Blair has been involved in an incident on a flight. In 2016, she was subdued by nurses on a flight from Mexico to Los Angeles after an alleged drunken outburst. At the time, she attributed the incident to mixing medication with alcohol, leading to her blacking out and expressing deep regret. She issued a public apology following that event, calling herself a "flawed human being who makes mistakes."

Blair had previously reduced her film work after announcing her multiple sclerosis diagnosis in 2018, later announcing she was in remission in 2021. It remains unclear if Blair will face charges related to the recent incident, as New York prosecutors have been contacted by the BBC.
