Selma Blair Appears at 90s Con Amid Legal Troubles Following Flight Incident

Selma Blair made an appearance at 90s Con in Connecticut on Friday, just days after a reported incident on a Delta flight that led to her arrest. The actress, who has pleaded not guilty to charges of second-degree assault, posed for $100 photos with fans at the Connecticut Convention Center.

Attendees were instructed not to ask Blair about the widely reported mid-air event. An eyewitness told the Daily Mail that Blair's celebrity booth was the only one shielded from public view. She was accompanied by two bodyguards and multiple staffers, and each fan meet-and-greet was limited to one minute. Despite the circumstances, the eyewitness described Blair as kind and in good spirits.

Blair's representatives released a statement addressing the incident, asserting that she experienced a medical emergency on the flight and did not intend to harm anyone. The statement also emphasized that Blair has multiple sclerosis and pseudobulbar affect, a neurological condition that can affect the presentation of medical episodes. Her service dog, Scout, was present and reportedly taken from her by authorities.

Her legal team claims Blair had missed multiple doses of medication before the alleged confrontation. Her lawyers told the New York Post that she also hit her head during the flight, and that the combination of factors, including altitude, led to severe confusion and disorientation. Blair was arraigned on two felony counts of second-degree assault after allegedly attacking a flight attendant and a Port Authority police officer. In court, her attorneys entered a plea of not guilty on her behalf. A judge set bail and ordered Blair to maintain distance from the nurse she is accused of assaulting. Her legal team highlighted her public advocacy and her body of work, but the judge stated that Blair should not receive special treatment due to her celebrity status.
