A Brazilian psychic, Athos Salomé, has claimed that two of his predictions for 2026 have come to pass, prompting him to draw attention to a more concerning forecast involving potential conflict between Russia and NATO in the Arctic.

Salomé, who has been dubbed the ‘Living Nostradamus,’ stated that his predictions regarding the escalation of tensions between Iran and Israel and Spain's victory in the World Cup have been fulfilled. He previously outlined a list of ten predictions for 2026 in December of the preceding year.

One of his earlier forecasts warned of critical tensions in the Middle East during the second quarter of 2026, attributed to disputes over Iran’s uranium enrichment program. Salomé now asserts that the conflict between Iran and Israel aligns with this prediction. He also claimed to have foreseen Spain's World Cup victory, noting that the winning team would wear colors associated with fire. While his prediction included multiple potential winners, he identified Spain as the most likely champion, and after Spain's win over Argentina, he considered his forecast validated.

Arctic Tensions Rise

With these two alleged fulfillments, Salomé is now emphasizing a warning he issued in December about the Arctic Circle. He believes the region is becoming increasingly dangerous as melting ice opens new shipping routes and access to valuable energy reserves, intensifying competition.

This warning comes amidst ongoing developments, including NATO's Arctic Sentry operation and reports of Russia deploying missile systems in strategic Arctic locations. Russia has been expanding its military presence in the region, while NATO is increasing its troop deployment. Salomé suggests these actions heighten the risk of a confrontation during the current year's ice melt period.

Broader Global Concerns

Salomé also pointed to Africa's Sahel region as another potential flashpoint. He warned of extremist groups in northern Niger drawing rival powers into a struggle for influence, particularly following the withdrawal of Western troops.

In late 2025, Salomé released a series of predictions for the year ahead, forecasting prolonged global conflicts without clear victors, alongside an increase in cyberattacks, disease outbreaks, and natural disasters. He anticipated the war between Russia and Ukraine would remain in a stalemate and predicted mounting tensions between China and Taiwan, stopping short of a full-scale invasion but involving blockades and cyber warfare.

He also foresaw continued instability, terrorism, and mass displacement in West Africa and the Sahel, impacting Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger. His predictions included widespread cybercrime targeting critical infrastructure in North America and Western Europe, with major events like the World Cup also identified as potential targets for disruption.

Regarding public health, Salomé predicted further outbreaks of bird flu, dengue, and mpox, citing strained healthcare systems and international funding as challenges. He also anticipated increased concern over artificial intelligence, specifically deepfakes, financial scams, and mass surveillance, necessitating accelerated government regulation.

Climate change was another focus, with Salomé forecasting severe heatwaves in southern Europe, flooding in Southeast Asia, drought in Brazil, and worsening water shortages in the Middle East and North Africa.

Salomé develops his forecasts by combining symbolic analysis, long-term global patterns, and his study of Kabbalah, an ancient Jewish mystical tradition. He looks for recurring cycles and coincidences to compare with current events, acknowledging that his methods are interpretive rather than certain.
