Selena Gomez's Rare Impact Fund Benefit Highlights
Singer hosts annual charity event in Los Angeles, husband Benny Blanco in attendance.
Selena Gomez hosted her annual Rare Impact Fund Benefit in Los Angeles on Wednesday night, an event aimed at supporting mental health advocacy and services. Her husband, music producer Benny Blanco, was present at the gala, which also featured a celebrity auction. At one point during the auction, Blanco's actions prompted a visibly embarrassed but smiling reaction from Gomez.
Gomez, 34, wore a shimmering gold gown for the event. Earlier in the evening, she appeared on the red carpet at the Hollywood Palladium in a strapless red jeweled gown with a corset-style bodice. She accessorized with diamond earrings and her engagement ring, a gift from Blanco, which she received in 2024.
The Rare Impact Fund, launched by Gomez in 2020, has a goal of raising $100 million over a decade to support mental health initiatives. To date, the fund has reportedly raised $30 million.
Gomez and Blanco, 38, recently marked their first wedding anniversary on September 27. The couple tied the knot last fall in Santa Barbara, California, with actor Lil Dicky officiating. Taylor Swift was among the guests.
In a recent appearance at the Fast Company Innovation Festival in New York City, Gomez discussed future plans to have children with Blanco. She stated that she plans to "eventually" start a family. This comes after Gomez shared in a 2022 interview that she cannot carry children due to medical reasons, which she had to grieve. She expressed openness to surrogacy or adoption as paths to motherhood, emphasizing that any child would be her own.
Gomez also recently sold a home in Encino, California, for $5.4 million. She had purchased the property for $4.89 million in 2020 and listed it for $6.49 million in May. She and Blanco currently reside in a Beverly Hills mansion purchased for $35 million.
