Selena Gomez's 'Burnin' Up' Nod to Ex Nick Jonas

Selena Gomez recently offered a nostalgic nod to her former flame, Nick Jonas, during the 2026 Rare Impact Fund Benefit. The singer posted a TikTok video of herself in a custom Prada red evening gown and matching satin heels, set to The Jonas Brothers' 2008 hit "Burnin' Up."

In the video, Gomez lip-synced the song's popular lyric, "red dress," while showcasing her attire. She captioned the clip, "Feeling nostalgic."

The song "Burnin' Up" has long been speculated to be about Gomez, who was featured as Nick Jonas's on-screen love interest in its music video. The track was released in 2008, the same year Gomez and Jonas, both 34, began dating. Their relationship, which began when they were teenagers, was on-again, off-again until their reported split in 2010.

Gomez previously reflected on their past relationship in a 2015 interview with Capital FM, describing it as "puppy love" and stating, "We actually caught up the other day and it’s really fun to be able to do that."

Gomez, who starred in Disney Channel's "Wizards of Waverly Place" from 2007 to 2012, is now married to music producer Benny Blanco. The couple confirmed their relationship in December 2023 and reportedly married in September 2025.

Nick Jonas married actress Priyanka Chopra in December 2018. They welcomed their daughter, Malti Marie Chopra Jonas, in January 2022.
