Selena Gomez Jokes About Husband Benny Blanco's Antics at Rare Impact Fund Benefit
The singer and entrepreneur shared a laugh with her husband at her annual charity event, which has raised millions for mental health services.
Selena Gomez appeared amused by her husband Benny Blanco's behavior during an auction at her annual Rare Impact Fund Benefit in Los Angeles on Wednesday night. Blanco, a music producer, raised his paddle at one point, prompting a visibly embarrassed yet smiling reaction from Gomez.
The event, hosted by Gomez, supports her Rare Impact Fund, which aims to improve mental health advocacy and services. The fund has raised approximately $30 million over the past seven years, with a goal of $100 million over a decade.
Gomez, the founder of the beauty line Rare Beauty, wore a shimmering gold gown for the occasion. Earlier in the evening, she graced the red carpet in a red jeweled gown with a corset-style bodice. She accessorized with diamond earrings and the engagement ring Blanco gave her in 2024.
Gomez and Blanco, who celebrated their first wedding anniversary on September 27, were married in a Santa Barbara ceremony last year. The couple, who have been together for over three years, began dating in the summer of 2023, announced their engagement in December 2024, and tied the knot the following year.
In recent discussions, Gomez has spoken about her desire to have children. She revealed plans to eventually start a family with Blanco, though acknowledged that due to medical reasons, she is unable to carry her own children. Gomez shared in a past Vanity Fair interview that she has medical conditions that would put both her and a baby at risk. Despite this, she expressed gratitude for options like surrogacy or adoption, stating her commitment to becoming a mother through these avenues.
Earlier this month, Gomez sold one of her homes in Encino, California, for $5.4 million. She had purchased the property for $4.89 million in 2020 and had listed it for sale in May with an asking price of $6.49 million. She and Blanco currently reside in a Beverly Hills mansion that she purchased for $35 million two years ago.
