Brent Rosenkranz, 42, has been identified as the second victim of the flash floods that swept through Grand Canyon National Park on Saturday. The search continues for his missing companion, Timothy Smith, 53.

Rosenkranz, a father of three from Texas, was part of a group of friends hiking and camping when a severe thunderstorm caused flash flooding near the canyon's South Rim. Another member of their party, John Giusti, 46, was the first hiker found deceased after the incident.

A GoFundMe page established by Rosenkranz's sister has raised nearly $18,000 for his widow, Elisha, and their three sons. A family spokesperson described Rosenkranz as a devoted father and husband who owned a martial arts studio and mentored young people.

The flash flood occurred around 2:30 p.m. Saturday. Intense rainfall led to torrents of water rushing through the canyon, prompting the evacuation of 82 individuals from Phantom Ranch and the lower North Kaibab Trail. Many were airlifted by helicopter, while others were able to hike out.

Authorities plan to deploy cadaver dogs to assist in the ongoing search for Smith in the affected areas of the park.
