Park rangers are actively searching for a man who has been missing since Monday at Great Smoky Mountains National Park. A team of 47 rangers, supported by local agencies, is meticulously combing the park for Marcin Bachleda-Blaszczak.
Bachleda-Blaszczak was reported missing on August 24. He was last seen on the previous Saturday at the Sugarlands Visitor Center parking lot, where his vehicle was subsequently found. The Illinois man is described as being 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighing 170 pounds.
Officials have advised visitors that search personnel may be encountered on and off established trails, often wearing brightly colored shirts, as the search area expands.
