The search for Angelica Brophy, a 44-year-old emergency room nurse from Oceanside, California, has entered a critical phase as authorities and loved ones continue to seek her whereabouts. Brophy was last seen on July 6 dropping off her daughter at a local camp, but she never returned home.

Her disappearance was noted when she failed to report for her night shift at Kaiser Hospital in San Marcos. A co-worker, who also works the night shift, realized something was amiss when Brophy did not arrive for work and another colleague had not heard from her. The alarm was raised further when Brophy's husband contacted the hospital inquiring about her presence. The Oceanside Police Department (OPD) was notified around 9:30 p.m. on July 6, initiating a widespread search.

Search efforts have largely concentrated around Palomar Mountain Skate Park, where Brophy's vehicle was discovered. According to her relatives, she frequently hiked in the area. Security footage showed Brophy leaving the Harrah's Resort Southern California Casino around 3:30 p.m. on July 6. Approximately 50 minutes later, a parking ticket placed her vehicle near the skate park.

Currently, there is no evidence indicating foul play in Brophy's disappearance, according to OPD Chief of Police Taurino Valdovinos. However, her family and friends are actively engaged in a grassroots search effort, distributing missing person posters throughout North County in hopes of generating leads.

Manny Fabregas, one of Brophy's five older brothers, said the family is desperately waiting on any information about her whereabouts

Family members have expressed their distress and uncertainty. "We don't really know what we're supposed to do, and no one guides you," said her co-worker. Her brother, Manny Fabregas, described the family as being in a state of limbo, awaiting any information. Another brother, Martin Fabregas, is focusing on maintaining positivity amidst the difficult circumstances.

Friends have described Brophy as a caring, generous, and adventurous individual with a love for life. Her sister-in-law, Lisa Fabregas, told NBC San Diego that Brophy is a wonderful, thoughtful mother who would do anything for her children.

Brophy was reported missing that same day at around 9.30pm to the Oceanside Police Department and the frantic search began

Community members have joined the search, with volunteers and friends scouring areas in hopes of finding Brophy. A vigil was held in San Marcos on Wednesday evening, with attendees praying for her safe return. Brophy was last seen wearing black leggings and a gray t-shirt.
