The Maritime and Coastguard Agency has called off a major sea search for a 15-year-old boy who went missing while on holiday in Pembrokeshire. The search was suspended on Monday evening after two days of extensive efforts.

The incident began around 3:30 p.m. BST on Sunday when HM Coastguard received a report that three individuals were in difficulty in the water at Marloes Sands beach. Two people managed to exit the water safely, but the teenage boy, who was visiting from Yorkshire, remained unaccounted for.

The search, which involved multiple agencies, was suspended at 7:30 p.m. BST on Monday. A statement from the Maritime and Coastguard Agency indicated that there are currently no plans to resume the search. "Despite an extensive search, sadly, no sign of the missing person was found," an agency spokesperson said.

During the operation, crews from Angle Lifeboat RNLI reported working tirelessly for 22 hours at sea. On Sunday, Broad Haven and Dale coastguard rescue teams were on scene, supported by RNLI lifeboats from Angle, Tenby, and St Davids, as well as a pilot boat. A coastguard helicopter and a fixed-wing aircraft were also deployed, along with the Welsh Ambulance Service.

The search was initially suspended around 3:30 a.m. BST on Monday before resuming later that morning. Angle Lifeboat RNLI expressed gratitude to the Milford Haven Coastguard for their coordination and support during the "lengthy and tiring incident," extending their thoughts to the family and friends of the missing swimmer.
