Sean Ono Lennon, son of the late John Lennon and Yoko Ono, has welcomed his first child with longtime partner Charlotte Kemp Muhl. The couple announced the birth of their baby boy, named Aurelius, on Tuesday evening via social media.

"Okay so…Charlotte and I would like to announce that we have indeed created a Human Bean!" Sean Lennon wrote on Instagram, sharing photos of the new family. "His name is, Aurelius! Thank you!"

Lennon, 50, shared an image of himself holding Aurelius, swaddled in a white blanket, and another of Kemp Muhl with their newborn in a hospital bed.

Kemp Muhl, a musician and model, also shared moments from early parenthood, including images of herself carrying Aurelius, holding a small crab, and tending to their sleeping infant. She captioned a post, "We made a human! Am convinced DNA is agentic alien quaternary code."

Aurelius is John Lennon's first grandchild. Yoko Ono has two grandchildren through her daughter Kyoko Chan Cox.

Sean Lennon, born Oct. 9, 1975, is the only child of John Lennon and Yoko Ono. His father was killed on Dec. 8, 1980, shortly after the release of the album "Double Fantasy," which featured the song "Beautiful Boy (Darling Boy)," written for Sean.

Lennon and Kemp Muhl, 39, met at Coachella in 2005 and began dating in 2007. They have collaborated on musical projects, including their band, the Ghost of a Saber Tooth Tiger. Sean Lennon has continued his parents' musical legacy through solo work, collaborations with Ono, and with his band the Claypool Lennon Delirium. He also worked as a producer, notably on Lana Del Rey's 2017 album "Lust for Life."

In December 2025, Lennon stated he had taken over as custodian of his father's legacy, a role Ono had held for decades. He expressed a desire to help ensure younger generations remember The Beatles and his parents' work.
