Fox News host Sean Hannity, 64, has addressed viewer concerns regarding his appearance, explaining that he is battling a painful pinched nerve in his neck. The conservative media personality stated that medication prescribed for the condition has led to laryngitis and facial puffiness.

Hannity shared a statement on X, formerly Twitter, thanking those who had expressed concern. He detailed that the pinched nerve occurred during training and that his doctor recommended the medication prednisone to reduce inflammation.

'I'm fine, recovering well, and still training, but apparently a few weeks of prednisone has generated more social media commentary than 30 years of ratings success,' Hannity wrote. He added that the side effects of the medication, including a raspy voice and puffy face, were normal and that he was not being taken out of action.

Laryngitis is a swelling of the larynx, or voice box, which can be caused by overuse, irritation, or infection. A pinched nerve occurs when surrounding tissues, such as bone, cartilage, muscle, or tendons, apply excessive pressure to a nerve, potentially causing pain, tingling, numbness, or weakness.

Earlier in the week, social media users had commented on Hannity's visibly altered appearance, with some questioning his health. He also mentioned on his radio show that a doctor had previously diagnosed him with a severe sinus infection that had resulted in laryngitis, and that he had opted not to take prednisone at that time.
