Sean 'Diddy' Combs Transferred to Pennsylvania Prison With History of Abuse Allegations
The federal facility has previously faced accusations of 'inhumane' treatment and was the site of a gang-related assault conspiracy.
Sean "Diddy" Combs has been moved from the federal prison in New Jersey where he was being held to FCI Allenwood Low in Pennsylvania, the Federal Bureau of Prisons confirmed. The facility has a documented history of allegations concerning "inhumane" treatment of inmates and was the site of a gang-related assault conspiracy.
Combs, 56, was transferred to Allenwood Low after spending approximately a year at FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey. The move occurred days after Combs reportedly sustained a head injury while at Fort Dix, an incident his family has disputed involved a fight with another inmate, according to reports.
FCI Allenwood Low has faced scrutiny for its treatment of prisoners. In 2017, a lawsuit filed by former inmate Anthony Mammana accused a prison lieutenant of retaliating against him by confining him in a severely cold room, known as the "Yellow Room," for four days. Mammana claimed he was stripped of his clothing, provided only thin garments, and denied blankets, sheets, and a pillow. He also alleged that constant bright lights deprived him of sleep and that basic necessities like toilet paper, soap, and towels were withheld while guards mocked him. While a court found the treatment to be inhumane, Mammana was unable to pursue damages due to a legal technicality.
In a separate incident in September 2025, federal prosecutors announced indictments against 17 inmates at Allenwood Low. They were accused of participating in a gang-related conspiracy to assault other prisoners in June 2023. Prosecutors alleged the inmates planned to attack others with makeshift weapons, including locks and heavy objects attached to clothing items, as part of a dispute over control of common areas. Several defendants also faced charges for possessing prohibited weapons within the prison.
The Bureau of Prisons declined to comment on the circumstances surrounding Combs' transfer. This move follows recent reports suggesting Combs had been afforded a surprisingly comfortable period of incarceration at Fort Dix, with allegations from other inmates of access to massages, premium alcohol, and a cellphone, with other prisoners reportedly assisting with his meals and living space upkeep. Combs' representative denied these claims, stating he was serving his sentence in compliance with prison rules while pursuing an appeal.
Combs was sentenced to 50 months in prison in October 2025 after being convicted of two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. He was acquitted of more serious charges, including sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy, following his federal trial in New York. Combs is currently appealing his conviction and sentence, with his projected release date listed as March 2, 2028.
