Sean 'Diddy' Combs Suffered Head Injury After Striking Bunk Bed in Prison
The music mogul, serving time for prostitution charges, was hospitalized after the incident at FCI Fort Dix.
Sean 'Diddy' Combs was hospitalized after sustaining a head injury when he struck his head on a prison bunk bed at FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey, a source told Page Six.
Combs, 56, was transported by ambulance from the federal prison to a hospital on Saturday morning. The insider stated that he was conscious and speaking when he was taken back to the prison before sunrise. The source added that Combs struck his head on the bunk above him but is now recovering.
Representatives for Combs and FCI Fort Dix have been contacted for comment. A spokesperson for Combs previously stated, "We are aware of the reports concerning Sean Combs and are working to confirm the circumstances. Sean’s health and well-being are our immediate concern, and we appreciate everyone who has reached out."
Combs is currently serving a sentence of four years and two months for two prostitution charges. He was found guilty by a jury of transporting prostitutes across state lines for sexual purposes, but was acquitted on racketeering and sex trafficking charges. His scheduled release date was recently pushed back to March 2, 2028.
This adjustment to his release date followed reports that Combs had been placed in solitary confinement amid allegations of receiving preferential treatment in prison. According to People, Combs remains in solitary confinement, though the Bureau of Prisons declined to comment on the specific reasons for his placement or the change in his release date, citing privacy and security protocols.
The solitary confinement reportedly stemmed from an NBC News report detailing alleged special treatment, including inmates cooking for him, cleaning his cell, and providing massages. Sources told TMZ that moving Combs aligns with standard procedure during investigations, though it remains unclear if an investigation is ongoing.
Combs was previously placed in solitary confinement in July after an altercation with another inmate. The NBC report also alleged that Combs has access to a cell phone and a modified tablet, with one inmate claiming to provide him with massages. Combs' representative has stated that these rumors cannot be independently verified and that Combs "continues to serve his sentence within the rules and he patiently awaits the court's decision on his appeal."
Several individuals who previously shared a unit with Combs described his alleged luxurious lifestyle in prison, including the alleged smuggling of liquor, purchase of antidepressants from other inmates, and assistance with fan mail and phone calls. One inmate reportedly provided him with massages, and Combs allegedly spends thousands of dollars monthly to maintain this lifestyle, funded by commissary accounts replenished by external contacts. Photos obtained by one publication reportedly showed meals prepared for him, including pizza and meat with rice. A representative responded to these reports by stating that "the media characterizes ordinary prison life as news."
