Sean 'Diddy' Combs Rushed to Hospital After Fall in Prison
The music mogul was reportedly conscious and speaking after being taken by ambulance from FCI Fort Dix.
Sean "Diddy" Combs was taken by ambulance from FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey on Saturday morning after sustaining a head injury in a fall, according to TMZ.
Sources at the federal prison told the publication that Combs, 56, was conscious and speaking when he was transported back to the facility before sunrise. The circumstances surrounding the alleged injury remain unknown.
Combs is currently serving a sentence of four years and two months for two prostitution charges, stemming from a trial last year. A jury found him guilty of transporting prostitutes across state lines for sex, but acquitted him on more serious charges of racketeering and sex trafficking.
His expected release date has been adjusted multiple times. Most recently, Federal Bureau of Prisons records indicated a new release date of March 2, 2028, six weeks later than the previously scheduled January 21, 2028. This change followed reports that Combs had been placed in solitary confinement amid allegations of receiving preferential treatment.
According to People, Combs remained in solitary confinement as of the report on the release date change. The Bureau of Prisons stated that they do not comment on the conditions of confinement or reasons for release date changes for privacy, safety, and security reasons.
The updated release date and solitary confinement status came after an NBC News report detailing alleged special treatment, including inmates cooking, cleaning his cell, and providing massages. Sources told TMZ that placing Combs in solitary aligns with standard procedure during an investigation, though it was unclear if an investigation was ongoing.
Combs had previously been placed in solitary confinement in July following an altercation with another inmate. The NBC report also claimed Combs had access to a cell phone and a modified tablet, which he allegedly used to view nude photos from a former girlfriend and a documentary about his legal battles.
Diddy's representative, Juda S. Engelmayer, told the Daily Mail regarding the reports of special treatment, "There is no way we can independently verify those rumors." He added, "The continued scrutiny of every mundane detail of Sean Combs's life in prison has reached the point where the media characterizes ordinary prison life as news. The only real news is that Sean continues to serve his sentence within the rules and he patiently awaits the court's decision on his appeal."
Four individuals who previously shared a unit with Combs described to the publication a luxurious prison lifestyle, including access to smuggled liquor, antidepressants purchased from other inmates, and assistance with mail and phone calls. One inmate reportedly provided him with massages. The cost of maintaining this lifestyle was estimated at thousands of dollars per month, funded by outside contacts replenishing commissary accounts of inmates working for Combs.
Photos reportedly obtained by the publication showed meals prepared specifically for Combs, including pizza and meat with rice. One former inmate described it as "rich s***" and not typical jail fare.
