Sean 'Diddy' Combs' scheduled release from federal prison has been altered once more, with his new discharge date set for February 20, 2028. This marks the fifth adjustment to his release timeline since his sentencing in October 2025.

Previously, his release date had been moved up to January 24, 2028, from February 23, 2028. Before that, it had been slated for the summer of 2028, then moved to April, then February, and then January.

The latest change comes after Combs was involved in a physical altercation with another inmate a few weeks prior to the initial date changes. Reports indicate the fight began after Combs felt he was disrespected. Prison staff intervened, and Combs was placed in solitary confinement following the incident. An insider told TMZ that Combs "held his own" during the confrontation.

Combs, 56, is currently serving a four-year sentence at the Fort Dix Federal Correctional Institution in New Jersey. He was found guilty of prostitution-related charges in 2025. The sentence also includes a $500,000 fine and mandated participation in mental health and substance abuse programs.

During sentencing, U.S. District Judge Arun Subramanian acknowledged Combs' success as an artist and businessman but emphasized the need to consider his "history," including what the judge referred to as "Freak-Offs." The judge stated that Combs "abused them, physically, emotionally and psychologically," and that his power and resources enabled these actions to continue for an extended period.

Combs faced a potential life sentence on sex trafficking and racketeering charges, but was acquitted of those counts. He was found guilty of two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution, which carried a maximum sentence of 20 years.
