Sean "Diddy" Combs was placed in solitary confinement after an altercation with a fellow inmate this week at the Federal Correctional Institution Fort Dix in New Jersey, according to reports. TMZ first reported that the music mogul engaged in a heated scuffle after being “dissed” by another prisoner.

Sources told TMZ that the inmates pushed each other during the incident. An insider alleged that Combs, 56, "held his own" before prison staff intervened and separated the individuals. It is unclear if Combs remains in solitary confinement or if the incident will impact his release date.

Combs was transferred to FCI Fort Dix after being sentenced to 50 months in October 2025 for two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. His initial release date of May 8, 2028, was later revised multiple times, most recently set for February 23, 2028, as of last month. Previously, his release date had been pushed back in November 2025 following alleged multiple prison rule violations.

A representative for Combs has not yet commented on the reported fight. Officials at FCI Fort Dix stated they are "not at liberty to disclose or provide internal information pertaining to any inmate in our custody," citing privacy, safety, and security concerns. The Federal Bureau of Prisons also declined to comment on specific inmate disciplinary matters.

Combs' legal issues began in March 2024 with raids on his Los Angeles and Miami homes. He was arrested in New York City six months later and faced charges including racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion, and transportation to engage in prostitution. He was acquitted of more serious charges in July 2025. His legal team has continued to appeal, with recent arguments focusing on whether certain video evidence constituted amateur pornography rather than evidence of sex crimes. Assistant US Attorney Christy Slavik dismissed the argument as "meritless."
