The Scottish Open is set to tee off at the Renaissance Club in North Berwick, a venue that has hosted the event since 2019. The tournament has grown significantly in stature over the past five years, drawing elite players with its unique offering: a chance to acclimatize to European course conditions just before major championships.
Recognizing its increasing importance, the PGA Tour and DP World Tour began co-sanctioning the event in 2022. This has solidified its position as one of the premier non-major tournaments on the golf calendar, popular among enthusiasts on both sides of the Atlantic.
Despite consistently featuring strong fields, the Scottish Open has a history of producing unexpected winners. Since 2019, the average odds for winners have been over 50/1, with notable long-shot victories from Chris Gotterup in 2025 and Min Woo Lee in 2021. However, top-tier players like Rory McIlroy in 2023 and Xander Schauffele in 2022 have also claimed the title at the Renaissance Club.
This year's event features several top contenders with odds under 20/1. Among them are Rory McIlroy (10/1) and Xander Schauffele (18/1). Scottie Scheffler is the tournament favorite at +550, and Jon Rahm is listed at 15/1.
Xander Schauffele, despite being winless in 2026, has maintained a consistent season with 12th-place finishes or better in half of his 14 starts, including top-11 performances in all three majors. He has shown a particular aptitude for links-style courses, with a win and three top-15 finishes in four appearances at the Renaissance Club, along with six top-20 finishes in eight attempts at the Open Championship.
Adam Scott, at 80/1, remains a competitive force. The 45-year-old Australian has recorded four top-12 finishes this season and two top-5 finishes at Signature Events. Scott was the runner-up at the Renaissance Club in 2024 and followed up with a top-20 finish in 2025. His career includes six top-10 finishes at the Open Championship.
Tom Kim, aged 24, has shown recent form, securing three top-20 finishes in his last six starts, including a third-place finish at the U.S. Open. He has a strong record at the Scottish Open, with finishes of 17th or better in all four of his appearances, including a third-place finish in 2022.
