Kelley Wolf, the estranged wife of actor Scott Wolf, has issued a public apology to him and their family, describing their recent "nightmare" divorce and legal proceedings. In a statement shared on Instagram, she revealed a diagnosis of "breakthrough drug-induced mania with psychosis" following a severe mental health crisis.
"I have taken about 100 deep breaths to write this," Kelley, 49, began in her message posted Friday. "It's been a year since I recognized what everyone around me could see: I was not well, and I needed help." She described feeling as if her "brain had been hijacked, and the world was moving at the speed of a freight train."
Scott Wolf, 58, filed for divorce in June 2025 after 21 years of marriage. Shortly thereafter, Kelley experienced a significant psychological breakdown, which led to an involuntary psychiatric hold and erratic behavior on social media. The actor was initially granted temporary custody of their three children and a temporary protective order, though this was later dissolved.
Kelley was arrested in August 2025 on misdemeanor charges for online harassment and doxxing after sharing Wolf's phone number. Protective orders were reimposed but later dropped by Wolf in late 2025 following new custody and visitation agreements. Kelley voluntarily entered a mental health treatment facility in September 2025.
"After a year of working with incredible doctors, therapists, psychologists, and healers, I have an answer," she stated. "What I experienced was diagnosed as breakthrough drug-induced mania with psychosis… caused by stress, past trauma, hormonal shifts, and hallucinogens mixed with prescribed medications. A perfect storm."
She expressed deep remorse for her actions, stating, "My husband of 20 years was taken through a nightmare that wouldn't even fly in a movie script; it was so brutal. The things I did, said, wrote and posted caused profound harm and were not based in truth or reality, and they caused pain I could never imagine to the people I love the most."
Kelley directly addressed Wolf, acknowledging the immense pain she caused. "My brain turned on me. In my illness, I made accusations and did things that make me shudder. I have spent my life believing in love, hope, kindness and compassion. What I became was the opposite: Cruel. Vicious. Mean… In mania and psychosis, people can attack the ones they love the most and believe grand and delusional ideas."
She concluded her apology by thanking Wolf and their children for their support, stating, "Causing you pain and being the reason you suffered will haunt me for the rest of my life." She added that Wolf and their children "never gave up on me, and you fought like hell until you landed me in safe harbor. I owe you my life."
Wolf responded to Kelley's apology with five red heart emojis in the comments section of her Instagram post. The couple reunited for a family day at Universal Studios in February, with Wolf posting at the time, "Healing. Thank you @unistudios for an epic day at the park! So much fun!"
Kelley also apologized to friends and family in Park City, Utah, where the family has resided for 20 years, expressing sorrow for hurting them and gratitude for their support and grace.
