Scott Mills, formerly the host of BBC Radio 2's breakfast show, was the highest-paid star at the broadcaster before his departure, earning around £745,000 in the last financial year. This figure places him at the top of the BBC's star salaries list.

Mills exited his Radio 2 breakfast show last year. Similar to Mills, former Match of the Day host Gary Lineker also topped the star salaries list for six years before leaving his role last summer. Lineker departed the BBC after sharing an Instagram reel that contained an antisemitic illustration, for which he later apologized. He has since secured new contracts with ITV and Netflix.

Following Lineker's exit, his role on Match of the Day was divided among three presenters. Mark Chapman, Gabby Logan, and Kelly Cates now host the show, with their individual salaries significantly lower than Lineker's £1.3 million. Chapman earned approximately £335,000, Logan made £290,000, and Cates received £215,000. Combined, these amounts are considerably less than Lineker's former salary. The salaries of the new presenting trio reflect a range of sports presenting duties across the BBC, not solely limited to Match of the Day.

Other notable salaries include Laura Kuenssberg, whose earnings saw a slight increase this year. Her compensation now includes her Sunday morning program, Weekend Newscast, and a weekly column for the BBC News website. On BBC Radio 4's Today programme, Justin Webb has become the highest-paid presenter, earning around £375,000 for his work on that show and Americast. Nick Robinson's salary decreased by about £80,000 following the conclusion of the Today podcast, which he co-hosted.
