Scott Michael Foster, star of the Hallmark+ series "Paris is Always a Good Idea," discussed the process of filming a pivotal TikTok dance scene for the show's fourth episode, titled "Knightly."
In the episode, Foster's character, Jason Knightly, is introduced to Chelsea Martin (Lacey Chabert) at the American Cancer Coalition (ACC) through a viral TikTok campaign he created. The scene features Knightly performing a choreographed dance, which transitions from casual attire to a suit.
Foster revealed in an interview with Decider that he worked with a choreographer in San Sebastian to learn the dance. He admitted to initially underestimating the complexity of the routine, telling the choreographer, "I think you think I’m more capable than I am." The dance was adjusted, and after a few rehearsals, it was filmed on set.
"I just love the way they edited it with the two outfits and everything. It was really fun," Foster said, noting that he had momentarily forgotten about the dance sequence when he first read the script. He also expressed surprise that he didn't have a dance double for the scene.
The first four episodes of "Paris is Always a Good Idea" are currently available for streaming on Hallmark+.
