Scott Foley Returns to 'Scrubs' in Upcoming Episode
The actor reprises his role as Sean Kelly, who re-enters Elliot Reid's life after more than 17 years.
Scott Foley is set to return to Sacred Heart Hospital as his fan-favorite character, Sean Kelly, in the upcoming third episode of the Scrubs revival. Foley's character previously dated Elliot Reid, played by Sarah Chalke, during the original series run.
In the new episode, titled "My Ex’s Ex," Elliot is navigating her return to the dating scene following her separation from J.D. (Zach Braff). Carla Espinosa (Judy Reyes) is actively trying to set Elliot up with new men, even suggesting a doctor at the hospital with "spin class calves." Despite Elliot's initial reluctance to focus on romance, Sean Kelly makes an unexpected entrance into Sacred Heart, catching Elliot's attention and seemingly reigniting a past spark.
J.D. appears to be meddling in Elliot's love life, though his intentions seem good-natured, mirroring past instances where his interference affected their relationship. The episode will explore whether this reunion will lead to a rekindled romance or if J.D.'s involvement will complicate matters once again.
Scrubs airs Wednesdays at 8/7c on ABC. New episodes are available for streaming the following day on Hulu and Disney+.
