Scott Foley Returns to 'Scrubs' in New Season, Cast Hails His Continued Charm

Scott Foley is back as Sean Kelly in the latest season of the beloved sitcom 'Scrubs,' a return that has generated considerable buzz among fans and his castmates. Foley, who previously portrayed the dolphin trainer and love interest of Elliot (Sarah Chalke), is featured in the new season, much to the delight of the show's ensemble.

Zach Braff, who plays J.D., commented on Foley's enduring appeal, noting, "He’s so handsome. He’s more handsome now than ever." Donald Faison, who plays Turk, echoed this sentiment, observing Foley’s distinguished look with "salt and pepper" hair and striking green eyes.

The return of Foley's character was a planned event, according to Sarah Chalke. "We all love having him around. All last year when we got interviewed and people were like, ‘Who do you want to come back?’ And we’re all like, ‘Foley, because he was such an important part of the show and so much fun,'" Chalke stated. "And we did it, he comes back."

Viewers can anticipate seeing more of Sean Kelly this season. An exclusive clip released ahead of Foley's appearance depicted an emotional reunion between Elliot and Sean, hinting at a rekindled connection. Although initially hesitant to restart a relationship, Elliot is encouraged by J.D. to pursue happiness in her love life. The dynamic between Sean and J.D., characterized by their past animosity, also remains a point of anticipated enjoyment for the audience.

Braff highlighted the comedic potential of the J.D.-Sean dynamic, suggesting that J.D.'s resentment stems from Sean's charm and handsomeness. "The ‘Nobody cares, Sean’ dynamic is really funny," Braff said. "And he and Sarah are great together. So we just love having him back."

Faison added that fans can expect Foley to be a recurring presence, joking, "It’s Scott Foley, you never know with him. That man’s like a leech, he just keeps coming back."

'Scrubs' airs Wednesdays at 8/7c on ABC, with episodes available the following day on Hulu and Disney+. The show's streaming options include Hulu's ad-supported plan for $11.99 per month, an ad-free version for $18.99 per month, and various Disney+ bundles that include Hulu, starting at $12.99 per month.
