Scott Eastwood recently voiced strong disapproval of an unnamed co-star who he said abandoned a film project midway through production, causing significant financial and logistical disruption. Eastwood detailed the incident on the June 29 episode of "The Joe Rogan Experience," describing the co-star's actions as "shocking" and "unbelievable."
"People get too famous for too long and think the world owes them something," Eastwood stated during the podcast appearance. He elaborated that the individual decided to leave the project after substantial funds had already been invested, citing an unwillingness to work with another person involved.
Eastwood explained that he urged the co-star to repay the money invested in them, but the individual refused and ultimately departed the film. "It was their directorial, their story, their thing. And it was just like, bro, you took money from somebody," Eastwood said, emphasizing the ethical breach.
He characterized the behavior as something that would not be tolerated in other industries, suggesting that a star's status sometimes leads to such conduct. "I've seen some behavior in this business that is shocking," Eastwood remarked, calling the entertainment industry "really ugly" behind the scenes.
Eastwood, son of director Clint Eastwood, contrasted this experience with his father's work ethic. He recalled Clint Eastwood as someone who approached work professionally, leaving job-related stress at the door and advising his son to "do it well. We humble, work hard and be a man."
Scott Eastwood stated that his decision to enter acting was driven by a love for storytelling and filmmaking, not a pursuit of fame. He expressed his passion for creative endeavors that can evoke emotion in audiences.
