Scooter Braun and Todrick Hall Reconcile After Seven-Year Feud Tied to Taylor Swift Dispute

Music executive Scooter Braun and his former client Todrick Hall appear to have reconciled, seven years after a public dispute that stemmed from Braun's contentious relationship with Taylor Swift.

Braun recently showed support for Hall's new Off-Broadway musical, "Midnight," by sharing a video of a cast member's rehearsal performance on his Instagram Story. "Must watch and must listen Off broadway now @midnight," Braun wrote over the clip. Hall subsequently reshared Braun's post on his own Instagram Story, indicating a thawing of their previously strained relationship.

The apparent mending of their friendship marks a notable shift for the former collaborators. Their relationship had soured in 2019 when Hall publicly sided with Swift during her high-profile battle with Braun over the sale of her music catalog. At the time, Hall, who had been managed by Braun for six years, made strong accusations against the music mogul. "I am saddened by this news, but not shocked. He is an evil person who’s (sic) only concern is his wealth and feeding his disgusting ego," Hall posted on social media in June 2019. He also added, "I believe he is homophobic & I know from his own mouth that he is not a Swift fan."

At the time, representatives for Braun refuted Hall's claims. An executive at Braun's SB Projects, Allison Kaye, called Hall’s allegations “disgusting and defamatory.”

Seven years after their public dispute, Braun and Hall seem to have moved past their contentious history. Hall's musical, "Midnight," is currently running Off-Broadway, with the performer also serving as writer, director, and producer. The production is set in the 19th-century American South and explores themes of race, class, identity, and relationships, featuring a musical score that blends gospel, R&B, pop, rock, folk, opera, and musical theater.

"Midnight" has garnered positive reception from audiences, with many attendees sharing praise on social media. One review described the show as "so beautiful and fun and emotional and intentional and lovely and clever and heartbreaking and joyous." Another audience member called the production "incredible," and a third lauded Hall as a "genius," predicting the show would leave audiences "speechless in the best way." The musical currently holds a 4.8 out of 5 rating from verified customers on Broadway.com.
