Scarlette Douglas Expecting First Child with Fiancé Kyle Murray

Scarlette Douglas, the 39-year-old host of "A Place In The Sun," is expecting her first child with fiancé Kyle Murray. Douglas shared the news via an Instagram post on Sunday, revealing her pregnancy and showcasing her baby bump.

Douglas's announcement comes two years after she froze her eggs, a decision she made due to concerns about her fertility and the societal pressure to have children by a certain age. She had previously expressed fears that her career might have impacted her ability to start a family, stating in May of this year, "My career has been my baby. I've loved growing it and nurturing it." She also noted that egg freezing relieved the pressure of needing to find a partner immediately due to her age.

In 2024, Douglas revealed she had frozen her eggs, sharing, "I never thought I'd be 37 with no man, no husband, and no baby." She aimed to raise awareness about egg freezing, particularly within the Black community, emphasizing that it is acceptable and should not be a source of shame. She encouraged women to see it as a way to preserve options if it hasn't yet been their time to have children.

Douglas documented her egg freezing journey on Instagram, describing the emotional toll of the procedure in March. She detailed the discomfort from hormone injections and the difficulty of undergoing the egg retrieval process alone. Despite the emotional challenges, she was overjoyed to learn that 19 out of 24 collected eggs were viable for freezing, calling the result "more than I could have ever imagined."

In a significant turn of events, Douglas met fitness coach Kyle Murray at the gym. The couple became engaged in March of this year and are now preparing to welcome their first child together.
