Scarlett Moffatt Welcomes Second Child, Son Clark
The television personality shared the first photo of her newborn son meeting his older brother.
Scarlett Moffatt has announced the arrival of her second child, a son named Clark, with fiancé Scott Dobinson. The Gogglebox star shared the news on Instagram on Sunday, posting the first photograph of the newborn with his older brother, Jude. Moffatt, 35, described the moment Jude met his baby brother as one she will "treasure forever."
Clark Xander Dobinson arrived earlier than expected and his birth was not straightforward, with Moffatt sharing images from a hospital operating theatre, suggesting a caesarean section. "Our beautiful boy is here!" Moffatt wrote in her announcement post. "Arriving a little earlier than expected and not quite as straightforward as planned, our little family of four was made complete on Monday. Our hearts have never been so full, and I’d do it all again for you, Clark."
Fans and fellow celebrities congratulated Moffatt on the new arrival. Amelia Lily commented, "Congratulations to you all," while Denise Welch added, "Oh Scarlett how wonderful xx."
Moffatt had previously spoken about her desire for a larger family, mentioning in April that she was expecting another boy and felt she was "born to be a boy mum." She expressed joy at giving Jude a brother with whom he could share his life. "All my family and friends knew I wanted another boy," she said. "Of course it would've been wonderful to have had a girl – a healthy baby is all that matters – but my preference was a boy, to give Jude a brother. I'm just so happy for him."
Moffatt also revealed that the journey to conceive her first child, Jude, took four years. Speaking weeks before the birth of her second child, she told the Daily Mail that conceiving again had happened "pretty quickly." "I always craved that big family energy and I just love it. I'd have 10 if I could!"
She noted that this pregnancy felt like it had passed more quickly than her first and that the transition from one child to two felt less daunting because they already knew what to expect.
