Scarlett Moffatt Shares Heartwarming Moment Son Meets Newborn Brother
The 'Gogglebox' star posted the first family photo as a quartet, with her elder son cradling his new sibling.
Scarlett Moffatt has shared a tender moment as her son Jude met his newborn brother, Clark, posting the first photograph of their family of four on Instagram. The "Gogglebox" personality, 35, welcomed her second child with fiancé Scott Dobinson last week.
Moffatt described the moment as one she will "treasure forever," as the family posed for a photo in the hospital. Jude was seen gently holding his baby brother while their parents looked on.
"The moment Jude met Clark," Moffatt wrote. "Watching the boy who first made me a mammy become a big brother is a moment I’ll treasure forever. And judging by the last slide, Clark did very well with his choice of Transformer toy for his big brother."
She announced the birth on Friday, revealing her son's name as Clark Xander Dobinson. "Arriving a little earlier than expected and not quite as straightforward as planned, our little family of four was made complete on Monday," she posted. "Our hearts have never been so full, and I’d do it all again for you, Clark."
The TV personality also suggested the birth may have involved a cesarean section, as she shared images from an operating theatre. Her announcement was met with congratulations from fans and fellow celebrities.
Moffatt had previously spoken openly about the challenges of expanding her family. She shared that it took four years to conceive her first child, Jude, and expressed gratitude that a second child became possible more quickly.
"Because it took us so long to have Jude and we were just so grateful that we had Jude, we honestly didn't know if a second child would ever happen for us," she told the Daily Mail weeks before giving birth. "But actually, it happened pretty quickly for us. So I was like maybe we could have a third child. I wouldn't say no. I always craved that big family energy and I just love it. I'd have 10 if I could!"
She also noted that the pregnancy seemed to pass more quickly this time around and humorously reflected that the transition from no children to one was likely more challenging than from one to two, as they already had parenting experience.
Moffatt revealed her pregnancy in April, stating she felt "born to be a boy mum" and that her preference was for a boy to give Jude a brother. "Of course it would've been wonderful to have had a girl – a healthy baby is all that matters – but my preference was a boy, to give Jude a brother. I'm just so happy for him. He's got someone to share his life with now."
She announced the pregnancy on Instagram with a video of her holding the ultrasound scan with Dobinson and Jude. "We honestly can't believe we're writing this… After everything, we feel unbelievably lucky to be able to say… our family is growing," she captioned the post. "One little miracle gave us Jude, and now he's going to be a big brother. And if there's one thing we know for certain, it's that he is going to be the most amazing big brother. We are so grateful, so excited, and still a little bit in shock… Our hearts are fuller than we ever thought possible."
