Savannah Miller, 47, revealed that her sister Sienna Miller's pregnancy at 43 served as a significant inspiration for her own decision to have a fourth child in her forties.
Savannah, who is already mother to Moses, 21, Lyra, 18, and Bali, 14, from her previous marriage to Nick Skinner, stated that her sister's approach to motherhood and life made her realize she could manage another baby. Sienna Miller announced the birth of her second child with fiancé Oli Green, 29, in 2024. Savannah explained that observing her sister's experience led her to believe she could also 'do it again,' and by the time of Sienna's third pregnancy announcement, Savannah was committed to the idea.
Savannah met her current husband, James Whewell, six months after her separation from Nick Skinner. The couple married in 2022 and began discussing the possibility of starting a family together. Whewell expressed his support for whatever decision Savannah made regarding having a child.
The couple, who are expecting a baby boy, announced in March that they were preparing to welcome a new addition to their family, following what Savannah described as a 'complicated' fertility journey. They have chosen to keep the specifics of their conception private, believing it to be their child's right to decide if and when to share that information.
Speaking to British Vogue, Savannah reflected on her decision, noting how her perspective on parenting had evolved since having her first child, Moses. "In my 20s and 30s, I had so much to prove to the world – and to myself; every day felt like a race that could never be won," she said. "Now, when I'm with Sienna's younger daughter, I feel a lot more present, all of my urgency replaced by a sense of how quickly the years pass, no matter how long each day feels."
She added that she initially thought having another baby in her 40s would mean repeating the early stages of motherhood. However, she realized she would be approaching it with significantly more wisdom and a different partner. "When Sienna told me in 2025 about her third, it felt like a sign," Savannah shared. "If we should be so lucky for it to happen, I was in."
Earlier this month, Savannah and Whewell enjoyed a babymoon in anticipation of their son's arrival in August. Savannah shared images from their getaway at The Pig-near Bath, showcasing her baby bump. She expressed her joy at being pregnant at the same time as her sister.
"Our longed for miracle baby is joining the gang in August!" Savannah announced on social media. "To be able to relive the magic of pregnancy, with Jim, who is the most deserving and dedicated dad already to my three, is a profound and phenomenal gift."
Savannah admitted that the timing of her pregnancy alongside her sister's was intentional. "It was intentional on my part," she said. "I thought: 'If she's doing it again, at least I won't be in the trenches on my own. I'll join her… if I should be so lucky.'"
Addressing the societal stigma around women having children later in life, Savannah told Hello!, "There's a very strong narrative against women doing things... It frustrates me immensely, because if it were a man, the question wouldn't arise; it doesn't enter people's heads. If it's biologically possible, then clearly it's totally fine. People are always going to have their opinions, but each to their own."
Savannah was previously married to Nick Skinner, and James Whewell is the heir to the Wyresdale Park estate in Lancashire, which the couple now operates as a wedding venue.
