Savannah James Invests in New Los Angeles Professional Volleyball Team

Savannah James has been named an investor in League One Volleyball (LOVB) Los Angeles, a new professional volleyball franchise set to begin play in the 2026-27 season. The announcement marks a significant connection for the James family to Los Angeles' professional sports landscape, even as LeBron James transitions from the Lakers.

LOVB Los Angeles will be the city's newest professional sports franchise. Savannah James expressed her enthusiasm for the venture, citing her daughter Zhuri's involvement in the sport as inspiration. "I’ve seen firsthand through my daughter Zhuri how powerful volleyball can be for young girls, the confidence, discipline and sense of community it creates," Savannah James stated. "LOVB is an incredible league with elite athletes and a level of competition that is only going to continue to grow. I’m excited to be part of LOVB Los Angeles and to help build something special that girls like Zhuri can aspire to be part of one day."

Zhuri James, who plays club volleyball, has been an active participant in the sport, even delivering the ceremonial first serve at the LOVB Championship in Long Beach earlier this year. The league itself boasts several prominent volleyball figures, including former Nebraska Cornhusker standout Lexi Rodriguez, who earned All-America honors throughout her college career and now plays for LOVB's Nebraska team. The LOVB Los Angeles roster is also expected to feature star power, including Olympic medalist setter Carli Lloyd.

The team is scheduled to play its home games at the Intuit Dome. LOVB Los Angeles plans to reveal its official team name, logo, and brand identity on September 25. The following day, September 26, the franchise will host its inaugural Fan Fest, offering attendees the chance to meet players and experience the Intuit Dome.
