Savannah Guthrie expressed gratitude to actress Allison Janney for publicly remembering her mother, Nancy Guthrie, during an emotional moment at the 78th Primetime Emmy Awards. Janney, accepting an award for her role in "The Diplomat," took a moment to acknowledge the pain the Guthrie family is enduring.

"I honestly can say I think about her every day, and think about the loss and what Savannah and her family are going through," Janney said backstage. "I don’t think I’m alone. I think all of America is thinking about her."

During a segment on the "Today" show, Savannah Guthrie tearfully thanked Janney for her gesture. "I was so touched to see her do that," Guthrie said. "It was her moment, her triumph. For her to sit and just take a moment to think about our family — it meant so much."

Guthrie reiterated her family's ongoing pain and plea for information regarding her mother's disappearance. "My whole family is in such pain. We need help," she stated. "Thank you, Allison Janney, for remembering us and giving me an opportunity to renew that call. We just want our mom home to give her a proper goodbye. That’s all."

Nancy Guthrie, 84, was abducted from her Tucson, Arizona, home in the early hours of February 1. Security footage shows a masked intruder disabling the home's cameras shortly before her pacemaker lost its Bluetooth connection to her cellphone. In July, six months after her suspected abduction, the Pima County Sheriff's Department released alleged ransom notes demanding $4 million in Bitcoin, along with claims that Nancy had perished.

Savannah Guthrie has repeatedly used her platform to appeal for public assistance, sharing photos and details about her mother's disappearance. In a social media post in July, she described the family's agony and urged anyone with information, even if afraid or conflicted, to come forward anonymously. "Someone knows something. Someone suspects something. Someone recognizes the writing in the ransom demand notes," she wrote. "We are begging for help. We are desperate."

The Guthrie family continues to seek information to bring Nancy home and provide her with a dignified farewell. Savannah emphasized that while her family strives to remain strong, their hearts are broken and they are determined to find answers.
