Savannah Guthrie's latest public appeal for her missing mother, Nancy Guthrie, contains subtle shifts in wording that may indicate new clues or developments in the case, according to former FBI agent Jason Pack and former CIA member Tracy Walder.

Nancy Guthrie, 84, was reported missing from her Tucson-area home on Feb. 1. Authorities later released security footage showing an armed and masked individual outside her home on the night she disappeared. While several ransom notes are reportedly under investigation, no arrests have been made.

Pack suggested that Guthrie's recent plea, released Monday, shows a change from previous requests that were directed broadly to "whoever has her, or knows where she is." The new wording appears to be more narrowly focused, possibly addressing "one person" rather than "a crowd," he told Page Six. This shift could suggest that the family believes they have a better understanding of who is involved or listening.

"For six months this family asked for a person. Bring her home. Return her to us. We will pay," Pack explained. "This week Savannah said, 'Tell us where to look for her.' That is a different request than the ones before it."

Guthrie, co-host of NBC's "Today," shared an emotional video on social media stating, "We have done our part and we will never stop looking for her." Experts interpret this phrase as a possible hint that a ransom payment has been made.

"Five words, and not one of them an accusation. But it lands like a receipt. It says this family held up their end," Pack said.

Walder also believes that Guthrie's message indicates she may have received another communication. "She's answering specific questions. She does allude to the fact that some type of ransom was paid," Walder stated.

Guthrie, 54, described her family's situation as "a nightmare that will not end." She pleaded, "I know that you have tried to do things the right way, so I’m asking you—begging you—to do the right thing now." She added, "Please make the right choice."

Pack noted that while the language change is significant, it does not equate to concrete evidence. "Only the investigators know whether a new communication came in," he said.

Authorities have released images of a masked individual seen near Nancy Guthrie's home on the night she went missing. The investigation is ongoing.
