Savannah Guthrie referred to her missing mother in the past tense on Thursday's episode of the "Today" show, seven months after her mother Nancy Guthrie was reported missing from her Arizona home.

"My mother’s family w-, my mother was Irish, her grandmother," Guthrie said during a segment about the show's upcoming live episodes in Ireland. "They were from Galway."

The Pima County Sheriff's Office is investigating the case, but they have not announced any leads. Blood matching Nancy Guthrie's DNA was found inside the residence, and surveillance footage captured a masked, armed individual on her porch the morning she disappeared.

Guthrie had previously acknowledged the possibility that her 84-year-old mother may be deceased following her February abduction.
