Savannah Chrisley is expecting a child with her fiancé, Jason Galanis, a union her fiancé’s estranged brother has called his "biggest con yet." Derek Galanis, 54, a convicted fraudster himself, warned in an exclusive interview with Page Six that Chrisley, 29, is "in for a rocky ride" with her much older partner.
Jason Galanis, 56, has a history of financial fraud. He was sentenced in September 2020 to 189 months in prison for his involvement in multiple security fraud schemes. During his incarceration, he was housed at the Federal Prison Camp in Pensacola, Florida, in 2023, alongside Chrisley's father, Todd Chrisley. Both men received pardons from President Trump last year.
"My brother is one year younger than her father," Derek Galanis stated. "They were in prison together, right? Both my brother and her father were pardoned by Trump. This is a continuation. It's wild."
Savannah Chrisley announced her pregnancy and engagement to Jason on Tuesday via Instagram. She described him as a "mystery man" she met through political circles while advocating for her parents' release from prison. The couple became engaged in December 2025, approximately five months after they began dating. Chrisley has acknowledged their 27-year age difference.
Derek Galanis, who chronicled his family's criminal activities in his book "Greed and Fear: The Galanis Crime Family," stated he last spoke with his brother in 2016. He believes Jason has not changed, noting that he did not receive a thank-you call from his brother after speaking out about Jason's business dealings with Hunter Biden. Jason Galanis was a business associate of Hunter Biden, serving as equity partners at Burnham Financial Group (BFG) from 2012 to 2015.
Jason Galanis allegedly orchestrated a $60 million fraud scheme through BFG's subsidiary, Burnham Securities, to sell fraudulent municipal bonds to the Wakpamni Lake Community of the Oglala Sioux Tribe in South Dakota. While incarcerated, Jason Galanis reportedly cooperated with House Republican investigators examining his relationship with Hunter Biden. His prison sentence was commuted by President Trump in the previous year.
Hunter Biden, when testifying before the House Oversight Committee in 2024, downplayed his connection to Jason Galanis, stating he recalled meeting him only once, about 10 years prior. Jason Galanis was divorced in 2018 while serving time in prison.
