Savannah Chrisley Engaged to Convicted Fraudster Jason Galanis
The reality star announced her engagement and pregnancy with Jason Galanis, who was pardoned by former President Donald Trump.
Savannah Chrisley announced on October 27 that she is engaged to Jason Galanis and that the couple is expecting their first child. Galanis, 56, is a convicted fraudster whose prison sentence was commuted by former President Donald Trump in March 2025.
Galanis and Chrisley have been engaged since December 2025, a few months after they began dating. Chrisley, 29, shared the news on Instagram, expressing gratitude for the life she has with her fiancé.
Galanis's Criminal History
Galanis was sentenced in September 2020 to 189 months in prison for his role in multiple financial fraud schemes. The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York stated that these schemes included defrauding the Oglala Sioux tribe of South Dakota. Galanis and his associates persuaded the tribe to issue bonds, promising to invest the funds, but instead diverted over $38 million into an account controlled by Galanis. He personally spent more than $8.5 million on properties, vehicles, jewelry, and travel.
He was also convicted in separate schemes involving stock manipulation of Gerova Financial Group and defrauding clients of an investment advisory firm. Additionally, he was involved in a scheme to defraud TAG Virgin Islands, Inc. Galanis was ordered to pay nearly $162 million in restitution.
Presidential Pardon and Ties to Hunter Biden
On March 28, 2025, President Trump commuted Galanis's prison sentence, authorizing his immediate release. The commutation also waived his financial penalties. Notably, Chrisley’s parents, Todd and Julie Chrisley, who were convicted of tax evasion and bank fraud, also received pardons from Trump in May 2025.
Galanis has known ties to Hunter Biden, with whom he worked on investment ventures. Galanis testified virtually from prison in March 2024 before the House Oversight Committee as part of a Republican inquiry. He stated he was present for a May 2014 phone call involving former President Joe Biden, Russian billionaire Yelena Baturina, and other business associates, during which he claimed Biden told Baturina to "be good to my boy" in reference to Hunter.
How They Met
Chrisley revealed on her podcast, "Unlocked," that she met Galanis through "the world of politics" while she was advocating for her parents' pardons. She reconnected with him after her parents were pardoned in May 2025, and their relationship developed from there. "When we truly started digging deep into things, it was so much stronger of a connection than either of us ever thought was there," she said.
