Savannah Chrisley Defends Secret Marriage Amid Public Scrutiny
Reality TV personality Savannah Chrisley addressed criticism following the revelation of her secret marriage to convicted fraudster Jason Galanis and an anticipated child.
Savannah Chrisley has publicly addressed public judgment after revealing her secret marriage to Jason Galanis, a convicted fraudster, and announcing her pregnancy.
Chrisley, 29, took to her Instagram Story to express her feelings about the "incredibly cruel" nature of public criticism and the tendency for people to "judge" quickly and "slow to show grace." She shared her thoughts while reflecting on her faith amid what she described as "noise" and "hate."
"This world can be so incredibly cruel," Chrisley wrote. "People can be quick to judge, quick to condemn, and slow to show grace. But as I sit here looking out at God's beautiful creation, I'm reminded of something so much greater than the noise around me... The world may try to steal your peace, but it can never take away what God has promised you."
The revelation of her marriage came as a surprise, following her earlier announcement of an engagement and impending child. It was subsequently revealed that she and Galanis, 56, had secretly married on July 14 in the Cayman Islands. Chrisley posted a snapshot of a beach, tagging her location at President Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago Club, as she responded to the criticism.
"What a whirlwind this week has been..." she wrote. "I've learned that you don't have to defend what God has already ordained. You don't have to fight every battle, answer every accusation, or convince the world of what God already knows to be true."
Chrisley stated she is "choosing love when ... met with hate." She added, "Sometimes the greatest act of faith is simply being still, choosing love when you're met with hate, extending grace when none is given, and trusting that Jesus is working even in the moments that hurt the most."
She also shared that her "heart is full" and her "blessings are immeasurable," concluding her post with, "Thank You, Jesus, for a peace this world cannot give and a love this world cannot take away."
Chrisley had announced her engagement and pregnancy on Tuesday, referring to her fiancé only as "J." Galanis was identified shortly thereafter. He is 27 years her senior and had previously been sentenced to over 15 years in prison in 2020 for his involvement in multi-million dollar fraud schemes. His sentence was commuted by former President Trump on March 28, 2025.
Galanis served time in the same Pensacola, Florida, facility as Chrisley's father, Todd Chrisley, for over eight months in 2023. Todd and Julie Chrisley were convicted in 2022 for participating in a $30 million tax fraud scheme and sentenced to 12 and seven years, respectively. Their sentences were commuted by President Trump in May 2025.
Chrisley explained on her podcast that she and Galanis first met through "the world of politics" in the previous year while she was seeking a presidential pardon for her parents. Following the pardon's granting in May 2025, Galanis contacted her to offer congratulations. Their conversations led to dating in July 2025, and he proposed five months later in the Cayman Islands.
Galanis, who has not publicly addressed past allegations against him, has reportedly moved into Chrisley's Nashville residence.
