Savannah Chrisley Defends Age Gap with Husband Jason Galanis
Todd Chrisley shared his daughter's perspective on her 27-year age difference with her husband, Jason Galanis.
Savannah Chrisley addressed the significant age gap between herself and her husband, Jason Galanis, in a conversation with her father, Todd Chrisley. Savannah, 29, is married to Galanis, 56, a convicted fraudster who previously served time in the same Florida prison as Todd.
Todd Chrisley recounted the discussion on the "Two Sons and Me" podcast, revealing Savannah's stance: "Daddy, I’d rather have 20 amazing years, if that’s what I’d have, than 50 years of nothing." Initially, Todd expressed reservations about the relationship, advising his daughter against it due to the age difference and potential for a "short runway" in their life together. However, his perspective has shifted.
"Jason is brilliant. He’s got one of the most brilliant minds I’ve ever seen," Todd stated. "He has literally built his life from the ground up and everything he has, he has earned."
Todd added that Savannah "doesn’t have to worry about anything financially, emotionally, spiritually," as the couple is "in sync." Todd’s mother, Nanny Faye Chrisley, also voiced her approval of the age difference, stating she is "certainly" okay with it. Todd concluded that he no longer has a problem with the age gap because he sees how happy his daughter is.
Despite initial media reports of Savannah's engagement, marriage records indicate the couple secretly married on July 14 in the Cayman Islands. Galanis, a former business associate of Hunter Biden, was sentenced to over 14 years in prison in September 2020 for his involvement in fraud schemes. His sentence was commuted by President Donald Trump in March 2025.
Todd and his wife, Julie, also had their tax evasion and bank fraud convictions pardoned by President Trump last year. Savannah, on her podcast "Unlocked," defended the relationship, stating Galanis "does not look his age, nor does he act his age." She described him as having a "great" body and a sharp mind, calling him "the love of my life" and her "best friend."
