Sasha Farber Updates on Selma Blair Following Arrest
The actress's former 'Dancing With the Stars' partner says she is "doing great" after a mid-flight incident.
Selma Blair's former "Dancing With the Stars" partner, Sasha Farber, has stated that he has been in contact with the actress and that she is "doing great" following her recent arrest. Blair was taken into custody earlier this month after an alleged incident on a Delta Airlines flight.
Farber, who was paired with Blair during Season 31 of the popular competition show, told People magazine that Blair is like "family" to him. "You make such a connection because this show, it’s just a family-oriented show," he said. "The people that you get to meet, they become your family for the rest of your life."
Blair withdrew from "Dancing With the Stars" during her season due to health concerns related to her multiple sclerosis diagnosis. Farber's comments come weeks after the Oct. 11 incident on a flight from Los Angeles to New York.
According to reports, Blair allegedly bit one flight attendant and punched another. The pilot reportedly described Blair as an "abusive" passenger and requested that law enforcement and medical personnel meet the plane upon arrival. The flight attendants involved reportedly required medical attention.
While being transported to the hospital after landing, Blair allegedly kicked a Port Authority police officer. She is also accused of assaulting a nurse at the hospital, who reportedly pressed charges. Blair was charged with two counts of second-degree assault and has entered a not guilty plea. If convicted, she could face up to seven years in prison.
Blair's attorney, Shawn Barnes, stated that the incident was triggered by a missed dose of medication prescribed for her multiple sclerosis. Blair has been in remission from MS since 2021. A representative for Blair also commented that there is "much more to this story" and that the actress "did not intend to harm anyone."
Despite the legal proceedings, Blair made an appearance at 90s Con in Connecticut on Oct. 16. An eyewitness at the event told Page Six that Blair appeared "very upbeat" and "very jovial," and was met with applause from fans. She was reportedly overheard telling a fan, "I’m doing good. I’m a little nervous, but I’m doing good."
