Sarah Palin Asks for Prayers for Cancer-Stricken Partner Ron Duguay

Former Alaska Governor and Vice Presidential nominee Sarah Palin has publicly requested prayers for her partner, retired NHL star Ron Duguay, who is undergoing treatment for stage four cancer.

Palin, 62, shared her appeal on Instagram, posting a photo of Duguay's hand holding hers from his hospital bed. She also shared a black and white image of herself looking at Duguay, with a quote superimposed that read, "I know God can, I'm asking him to. And even if the answer looks different, I know by now to still hold onto Him."

Duguay was diagnosed with Stage 4 colon cancer over a year ago, and the disease has since spread to his liver. Despite the seriousness of his condition, Duguay's daughter, Shay Thomas, has spoken positively about Palin's role in their family's support system.

"She’s been a huge source of support. Not only for my dad, but for our entire family," Thomas told the Daily Mail earlier this year. "If we ever need her for something, she would take a red-eye flight on short notice." Thomas also recounted how Palin stayed with Duguay in the hospital for five days following surgery on his colon and liver.

Palin and Duguay were first linked in 2022, but have not officially confirmed their relationship status. Palin's Instagram bio still refers to her as a "Sovereign Single Mama."

"They haven't been able to see each other as much lately because of what my dad is going through, and Sarah also has obligations caring for her son, Trig, who requires additional care," Thomas explained earlier in the year.

Palin resides in Alaska, while Duguay has been receiving treatment at the City of Hope in Southern California, according to his daughter's social media.
