Sarah Ferguson, the former Duchess of York, is preparing for a return to the United Kingdom, according to reports, just days after her nephew Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle arrived in the country for an extended period.

Ferguson, 66, is expected to rent a residence in the Home Counties outside London. A source told The Sun that she has been seeking a new home for some time, noting that she had lived at Royal Lodge with her ex-husband Prince Andrew for two decades. The move comes as Prince Andrew faces scrutiny related to his past ties to Jeffrey Epstein.

Ferguson was last seen publicly in April, spending time in the Australian Alps. Her belongings were reportedly collected from Prince Andrew's home in Sandringham this week, with her move-in anticipated by Monday. The rental home is said to cost approximately $8,000 per month and includes a "granny annexe."

The return to the UK for Ferguson occurs shortly after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, who relocated to Southern California in 2020, also returned to Britain. An insider told Page Six that King Charles III, who announced his cancer diagnosis in 2024, is the reason for their move back to the UK. While the King anticipates being closer to his son and grandchildren, he has reportedly emphasized that Harry and Meghan remain non-working members of the royal family.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex reportedly landed at Birmingham Airport after a private flight from California. Their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, are expected to begin school in the UK next week. The couple is said to have received support for their move from British hedge fund billionaire Ian Wace.
